Mulranny Golf Club be Ireland's answer to Scotland's Brora or England's Minchinhampton Old. They are all cut from the same cloth - the rugged and unadulterated kind.
Golf Course Review
Between Connemara and Carne is found Mulranny Golf Club. The links are located at the base of The Nephin Mountains and on the shores of Clew Bay in Mulranny, County Mayo affording wonderful views of Croagh Patrick and Clare Island.
Mulranny Golf Club History
Golf has been played here since 1896 and in times past there were even 18 holes. However, coastal erosion and a smaller membership mean having 9 holes has become a happy medium!
Mulranny Golf Club Synopsis
This links is a rare gem that refreshes the purist and allows you to experience what really makes golf great without all the glitz and glamour. With sheep tending the green and post and wire around the green, it's as pure a golf experience as you'll find.
For a remote nine-hole course, it's no pushover! There are two Par 5's which average more than 500 yards. 5 two-shot holes range in length from 338 yards to 437 yards offering variety. The two Par 3's contrast as well, measuring 162 yards and 206 yards respectively.
