Mulranny Golf Club

A quick nine that will put a smile on your face which could be missed if you blink.

Mulranny Golf Club

County Mayo, Ireland

Overview

Between Connemara and Carne is Mulranny Golf Club. The links are found at the base of The Nephin Mountains and on the shores of Clew Bay in Mulranny, County Mayo affording wonderful views of Croagh Patrick and Clare Island.

Mulranny Golf Club be Ireland's answer to Scotland's Brora or England's Minchinhampton Old. They are all cut from the same cloth - the rugged and unadulterated kind.

Mulranny Golf Club is a rare gem which refreshes the purist and allows you to experience what really makes golf great without all the glitz and glamour. With sheep tending the green and post and wire around the green, it's as pure of golf experience as you'll find.

For remote nine-hole course, it's no pushover! There are two Par 5's which average more than 500 yards. 5 two-shot holes range in length from 338 yards to 437 yards offering variety. The two Par 3's contrast as well, measuring 162 yards and 206 yards respectively.

Golf has been played here since 1896 and in times past there were even 18 holes. However, coastal erosion and a smaller membership mean 9 holes has become a happy medium!
