Northamptonshire County Golf Club
Overview
Northamptonshire County Golf Club has been called the third best golf course in the Midlands after Hollinwell and Woodhall Spa. Some may take that as a slight but we see it as nothing but a compliment.
Golf Course Review
Northamptonshire County Golf Club is located in Church Brampton, Northamptonshire. Just off the M1 motorway, the club lies north of the East Midlands town of Northampton.
Northamptonshire County Golf Club
The golf course was opened for play in 1910 after being laid out by Harry Colt. In 1947, James Braid would re-bunker the course and move the 18th green to its present location. More or less, the course is fundamentally a Harry Colt design with James Braid bunkering.
Clever Routing
Very cleverly, Cameron Sinclair added three holes: 7A, 8A & 9A, in 2004. This allows for a nine-hole loop to be played with holes 1 through 6 being played before the 3 alternative holes bring you back to the clubhouse.
The Colt Course
The Colt Course is a Six Hole Par 3 Course with synthetic greens and tees. For £30 juniors can access the course which is floodlit!
