Irvine Golf Club
Overview
Irvine Golf Club is used by the R&A as a Final Open Qualifying Course. It has also co-hosted the Amateur Championship and the British Seniors Open.
There are only two par 3's on the course and just one par 5! Fifteen par 4's make for a real challenge.
Golf Course Review
Irvine Golf Club, or Bogside, is one of the northernmost links on the rich Ayrshire coastline on the Firth of Clyde. Located a few hundred meters inland, the Bogside Flats are located to the west, the River Irvine winds its way past on the south side of the course and a railway runs by the course on the east side.
A classic links in every sense of the word, the course is firm underfoot and is accented by gorse and heather with a smattering of blind shots to undulating greens with punishing bunkers.
