Golf Course Review

Beaverbrook Golf Club is part of a luxury hotel estate located in the Surrey hills. Press baron Lord Beaverbrook bought the country house, coach house and garden house in 1910. A kingmaker, powerbroker, publicist, politician and good friend of Winston Churchill. The property was later purchased and renovated by Longshot Cherkley Court Ltd which redeveloped the estate and added a golf course which opened in 2016.

The chalk upland golf course drains freely and is a rare collaboration between an eminent golf course architect, David McLay Kidd, and 8-time major winner, Tom Watson.

Beaverbrook Golf Club is a notoriously shy club... so much so the website doesn't even mention golf as an activity available for guests. Sparsely treed and with golf royalty behind the design, you can be sure it would be a delight if you can find a way to make it to the first tee.
