Beaverbrook Golf Club

Perhaps one of the greatest collaborations ever: David McLay Kidd and Tom Watson.

Beaverbrook Golf Club

Surrey, England

Overview

Beaverbrook Golf Club is a notoriously shy golf club... so much so the website doesn't even mention golf as an activity available for guests.

The logo of the golf club is simple. No words or title, it is a simple outline of the spitfire airplane.

Golf Course Review

Beaverbrook Golf Club is part of a luxury hotel estate located in the Surrey hills not far from Walton Heath. The golf course is the preserve of the exclusive membership and not associated directly with the hotel.

Beaverbrook Estate History

Press baron Lord Beaverbrook bought the country house, coach house, and garden house in 1910. A kingmaker, powerbroker, publicist, politician, and good friend of Winston Churchill.

The property was later purchased and renovated by Longshot Cherkley Court Ltd which redeveloped the estate and added a golf course that opened in 2016.

The Golf Course at Beaverbrook Golf Club

The chalk upland golf course drains freely and is a rare collaboration between an eminent golf course architect, David McLay Kidd, and 8-time major winner, Tom Watson.

Sparsely treed and with golf course architecture and golf royalty behind the design, you can be sure it would be a delight if you can find a way to make it to the first tee.
