Full Course Review

Appleby Golf Club is a moorland or high elevation heathland in the county of Cumbria, England. The very definition of a hidden gem, it plays host to county championships. Treeless and expansive, it is laid out over a beautiful moor using natural undulations to full effect.

Coming in at under 6000 yards, there is only one par 3 on the front but three on the back. The rest are two-shot holes! No par fives are to be found on the course. The other design element you won't find are fairway bunkers.

You won't find Appleby Golf Club on any Top 100 lists. However, it is sneaky good and you'll never forget the 5th or 15th. That's two unforgettable holes for a green fee that is next to nothing!
