You won't find the golf course on many Top 100 lists... it did place 62 in the Top 100 Fun Golf Courses in GB&I 2021. However, it is sneaky good and you'll never forget the 5th or 15th. That's two unforgettable holes for a green fee that is next to nothing!
With regards to the 15th, rarely is a template as good or better than the original... could Appleby Golf Club's Dell, the 15th, be the one? Perhaps - known as Bell, it cracked Today's Golfer's GB&I Top 100 Finest Golf Holes in 2021.

Appleby Golf Club is a moorland or high elevation heathland in the county of Cumbria, England. The very definition of a hidden gem, it plays host to county championships. Just a few minutes from Junction 40 off the M6, this course provides superb views of both the North Pennines and Lakeland Fells. Take the detour on your way to Silloth on Solway Golf Club!
Unique Appleby Golf Club
Treeless and expansive, the golf course is laid out over the beautiful Brackenber Moor and uses the bold natural undulations to full effect. Uniquely, there are no fairway bunkers nor are there any par 5’s! Coming in at under 6000 yards, there is only one par 3 on the front but three on the back. The rest are two-shot holes.
