Synopsis

Masters of Design is not is a comprehensive biography of the legendary practice. The book is quite simply a celebration of the work of these particular masters.

The first three chapters of Masters of Design are purely historical and provide the backdrop for the chapters on Harry Colt and Alister MacKenzie that follow. Charles Alison and John Morrison combine for Chapter 6.

With the introductions made, Masters of Design focuses on golf courses arranged geographically. First, the British Isles and Europe. Australia and New Zealand come next. The Americas are the penultimate region and finally, Japan.

The world-renowned and lesser-known courses from around the earth are featured and lavishly accented by stunning photography. Courses from the British Isles include Northamptonshire County, Moortown, Luffenham Heath, Little Aston, Camberley Heath, Broadstone, Walsall, Cavendish, Brancepeth Castle, Bolton Old Links, Seaton Carew, Lahinch, Belvoir Park, Alnmouth, Calcot Park and finally Prince’s.
