The Golden Age of Golf Design is a collaboration between Geoff Shackelford and Michael Miller. It contains, not only rare photographs but also beautiful period paintings from some of America’s most excellent courses.
Every important early American course is represented with the architects responsible are remembered, honoured and analysed. Architects are arranged and examined based on their respective Schools of design. The schools represented are the National, Philadelphia, Ross, MacKenzie, and Monterey.
This book is a must-read for a more advanced student of golf course architecture.
