Rating Golf Courses & The Doak Scale

The book rates golf courses on the Doak Scale. Possible scores on the scale range from 0 to 10. Anything golf course with a rating of 4 onwards is decent. Golf courses with a score of between 7 and 10 are deemed worthy of every effort to play. Endlessly entertaining, it is the perfect companion before planning the trip of a lifetime. The Guide also contains information on obscure golf courses that you won’t find or see anywhere else.

Tom Doak’s Gourmet Choice

The Gourmet Choice is a list of Tom Doak’s favourite golf courses. Some are expected and others not so much. Among the more surprising choices are Painswick Golf Club and Royal Worlington & Newmarket Golf Club (Mildenhall).

Additional Volumes

There are five volumes of Tom Doak’s Confidential Guide available. Volume 1 focuses on Great Britain (England, Scotland & Wales) and Ireland. The Second Volume focuses on the winter destinations in The Americas, including the Southern States. The Third focuses on summer destinations of The Americas, including Canada. Number 4 focuses on continental Europe, Middle East and Africa. Lastly, Volume 5 focuses on Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
