Biography

Golf Architect Mike DeVries, a leading proponent of the modern minimalist movement, grew up playing at the Alister MacKenzie's Crystal Downs in Michigan, USA.

Armed with a master's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Michigan he has worked with Tom Doak and Tom Fazio during his 40 years in the industry. Expert in all aspects of golf course design and construction, he aims to create courses that are fun to play and stimulate a golfer's creativity.

Internationally known and recognised, his work spans North and South America as well as Australia. He has partnered with Frank Pont in restoring the only sole Harry Colt design in the USA. He is one-third of Clayton, DeVries & Pont, a leading architectural firm based in London, England with offices in Europe, Australia, and America.
