Golf Course Review

Pitlochry is an 18 hole, Par 69 inland golf course in the Scottish town bearing its name, which lies on the River Tummel in Perth & Kinross, Scotland

Pitlochry Golf Course and the Pitlochry Ladies Golf Club played over a 9 hole course nearby before Willie Fernie was commissioned to lay out the 18 hole course over the former Balnacraig and Drumchorry farmland.

There is a reference to changes being made to the courses from 1919 onwards in the local press. However, it would be Major CK Hutchison made it into the course we know today with changes advised in 1921.

The current course is just 5691 yards long! There are no par 5's and just three Par 3's... With fifteen par 4's and green with character, the course isn't taking advantage of as much as you would imagine at first blush.
