Overview

The Machynys Peninsula Golf Club & Premier Spa is near Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The course sits on the north side of the mouth of the River Loughor opposite the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which empties into Carmarthen Bay.

Opened in 2005, the Nicklaus design, built by Gary Nicklaus, on the site of a former monastery dating back to the 6th century. Machynys translates to 'Monk's Island.

Tommy Fleetwood called the course 'arguably the best man-made links in the world.' We can't really disagree but we don't many other courses which fit that description.

The 7121 yard, 18 hole golf course has been well used for R&A events and national championships.
