East Lothian, EH32 0QA, Scotland

Overview

Bobby Locke thought enough of the layout to say the club had one of the best sets of greens in all of golf.

Donald Steel wrote the course is not made to test giants but to give pleasure to the rank and file golfer, adding: "The architectural defense is its network of bunkers: neat, well defined and well-shaped."

Golf Course Review

Luffness New Golf Club is an 18 hole links golf course in Aberlady, Longniddry, East Lothian, Scotland. The links were laid out by Old Tom Morris after Luffness GC disbanded in 1894.

Luffness New Golf Club History

The club’s roots are intertwined with Kilspindie. Luffness GC split into Kilspindie Golf Club and Luffness New Golf Club, establishing the two East Lothian stalwarts. Kilspindie brought in Willie Park Sr and Luffness New called upon the services of Old Tom Morris for their new layouts.

Modern Layout

The current golf course is the first you see on the right-hand side of the road heading into Gullane from Edinburgh. The first 5 holes lie on the east side or clubhouse side of the A198. The remaining 13 are on the west side of the road mixed in with holes on Gullane No. 3
