Synopsis

The first three chapters are purely historical and provide the backdrop for the chapters on H. S. Colt and Alister MacKenzie that follow. Charles Alison and John Morrison combine for Chapter 6.

With the introductions made, the book focuses on golf courses arranged geographically. First, the British Isles and Europe. Australia and New Zealand come next. The Americas are the penultimate region and finally, Japan.

The world-renowned and lesser-known courses from around the earth are featured and lavishly accented by stunning photography. Courses from the British Isles include Northampshire County, Moortown, Luffenham Heath, Little Aston, Camberley Heath, Broadstone, Walsall, Cavendish, Brancepeth Castle, Bolton Old Links, Seaton Carew, Lahinch, Belvoir Park, Alnmouth, Calcot Park and finally Prince's.

What it is not is a comprehensive biography of the legendary practice. It is quite simply a celebration of the work of these particular masters.
